FREEDOM WEEKEND

The Detroit Branch NAACP is a proud sponsor of the Annual Freedom Weekend. Sponsors and partners have develop a series of activities over three days that will afford all members of the community several opportunities to participate. Schedule of events include a National Town Hall Meeting, Think Tank Sessions, Emerging Leaders Forum, Rhythm & Blues Concert, Power Economics Workshops & Luncheon, Senior Law/Empowerment Day, Gospel Music Workshops, Poetry Slam, Art Fair, Book Fair, Health Expo and Jobs & Career Expo.

Numerous national and local leaders from the business, political, social, community, sports and entertainment arenas will come together to make this historic weekend educational, entertaining and empowering. The goal of Freedom Weekend is to focus on strategies that work to improve the quality of life in Urban America and abroad. During the weekend of events there will be unique opportunities for persons of all ages and ethnicities to enjoy "Edutainment."
