SHOP DETROIT CAMPAIGN

In 1988, in an effort to increase in-store traffic for Black-owned and Detroit businesses, the Detroit Branch NAACP launched its annual campaign, "Buy Black, Buy Detroit" and published a "Retail Shop and Service Guide" to assist holiday shoppers.

Today, "Shop Detroit" is very much alive covering the entire city of Detroit and including approximately 100 merchant participants. This Holiday Season the Detroit Branch NAACP in conjunction with the City of Detroit has partnered with the Booker T. Washington Business Association, International Detroit Black Expo, and the Independent Retailers Association to offer exciting shopping opportunities within the city of Detroit.
